All matching scores are either 0, or 100%!

There are a few easy actions that can dramatically improve potential partnership scoring.

Problem

The scores visible on the bulk matching screen or on member profile pages are showing as either 0% or 100% when they should be showing different percentages for each potential match.

Information

Generally, this is a problem which has two sources: scheme configuration and member preference selection.

Scheme configuration

  1. Ensure that your scheme is correctly configured.

    1. A scheme needs more than one preference field enabled, and different weights associated with each matching field.

Member preference selection

  1. Member preferences are an essential component for SUMAC® to provide useful matching scores.

    1. Without preferences, SUMAC® cannot match with any degree of accuracy.

    2. If no preferences are set, SUMAC® assumes the user is OK with any selection. This will result in scores being skewed.

Potential solutions

👍 Ensure the scheme has fields marked as matching fields, with appropriate weighting.

👍 Ensure that members have selected preferences for these fields.

👍 To ensure that the members have a good range of preferences selected, make these fields required.
