Introduction

Finding a specific member needn’t be a chore. In this guide we’ll list two different ways to find members within SUMAC® and some additional pointers that will speed up the process.

Walkthrough

Searching for data can be a wearisome task, especially if what you want to find never shows up! This is why SUMAC® offers more than one way of searching.

The top search bar

In the search bar at the top of the screen you can search for members and partnerships using either a plain text search or searching by tag. This search ignores the status of the member so will show both active and withdrawn members as well as provisional, live, and terminated partnerships.

The table search

To search in a more focussed way, it’s possible to search on the member and partnership datascreens. Using these table based searches allows you to chain together the available filters on the table along with your search terms. For example, searching for all withdrawn members called “Anna” on the members datascreen table:

Notice that the Status column has been set to Withdrawn. This will limit the scope of the search to only show those members which have been withdrawn, excluding those who are active. Likewise, setting this to Active will exclude those who are withdrawn.

You can add as many filters to the table as you like before searching, or even after searching: the filters work on the result of the search (if nothing is currently being searched for, then all data in table is included).

Key points

🔍 The datascreens are where you can view and filter data for members and partnerships. Useful if you're searching for a type of member rather than a specific member.

🔍 The search box on the top menu bar will help you find both members and partnerships. You can search by name, email or by tag.
